Never had a friend or someone continuously inviting you to parties and all that kind of events having place in the opposite part of the world and in which you’re not interested at all?
Did you kindly ask to these guys and to their friends not to invite you anymore and they didn’t listen to you?
Well, it is possible to prevent them from sending you event invitations, without the need of blocking them.
Simply access your Facebook account and:
- Click on Settings -> Privacy Settings
- Under Block Lists, click on Edit Your Lists
- Under Block Event Invites, add the names of your spammer friends
Now enjoy your Facebook account without spammers.
Hope this helps. Thanks to Adrian for the suggestion.

WOOOW! That’s awesome!! Damn, it’s great! xD
Thanks so much! Now all of us can sleep better! xD
Cheers!
Posted by tanuzzodesign | January 23, 2010, 5:49 pmDoesn’t actually work. Just got an event invite today from somebody on the list.
Posted by oigsodi | February 10, 2010, 4:16 pmYeah. It did the same to me today. I’m sending a bug report to Facebook and I would advise you to do the same

Please, support it.
Posted by prof3ta | February 10, 2010, 7:33 pmThat setting applies to the Events box that you place on your profile (telling friends what events you are attending). Placing someone under these settings just prevents them from viewing this box (if you’ve added it), and doesn’t do what we all want– prevent them from inviting you.
Posted by andrew | February 23, 2010, 8:48 pmYes, I’ve already figured this out. Please support the feature request linked at the top of this page.
Posted by prof3ta | February 23, 2010, 10:29 pmThis does not work – you have it backwards – this feature is to who NOT to send YOUR invites to.
Posted by none | March 1, 2010, 6:59 pmYep. We’ve realized that. Did you notice the first line?
Posted by prof3ta | March 2, 2010, 4:09 pmWhat’s the current status on this? I hate getting event invites from people.
Posted by Michael | March 22, 2010, 7:00 pmHave you tried:
Privacy > Block Lists > Block event invites
Posted by Adrian | September 6, 2010, 6:29 amIt seems this feature was introduced recently. Thanks.
Posted by prof3ta | September 7, 2010, 9:16 amWas getting events from friend on Facebook. Removed him as friend. Blocked him. I still get his events. Followed your directions above, except his profile can no longer can be found. He’ll be the one person attending the event, but no profile appears. But he can still send events that I’ll never attend. I’d like to TRON his ass!
Posted by William | September 22, 2010, 4:22 pmToo bad that we cannot block ALL the invites!
Posted by Iosif | April 15, 2011, 7:21 pmis there a way to block every event?
Posted by david | July 2, 2011, 12:22 amyeah, how about blocking inappropriate events from people I don’t know or aren’t friended with. people (spammers) I don’t know are inviting me to download a free music program – illegal and unwanted! Why do I have to block everyone to make this work?
